Cover Bathroom Remodeling: The Pasadena Owner’s Guide
If you have a Cover bath product and something’s failed, we stock the replacement parts and do the install ourselves. A partial bathroom remodel in Pasadena typically runs $9,000 to $28,000 depending on whether we’re swapping a single component or gutting the room. Most owners find out there’s a problem in one of two ways: a slow leak they can’t trace, or a finish that’s worn through years before it should have.
The frustrating part is usually the unknown. Cover built their moveable wall and bath systems around specific mounting hardware and proprietary trim profiles, which means the wrong part from a big-box shelf won’t sit right. That’s the call we get most often: someone bought a “universal” track or seal, installed it, and now the door binds or the panel doesn’t seal. We carry the correct part and we’ll tell you before we touch anything what it costs, because a written price before work starts is just how we operate.
Which Cover Models This Applies To

Cover residential bath systems break into a few distinct lines, and the part compatibility is where most Pasadena homeowners get tripped up. The older-generation folding tub screens use a different track profile than the newer sliding shower panels. The snap-in seals on the current glass-panel models look identical across sizes, but they’re not: an 1/8-inch extrusion difference changes how the panel seats. Before we order, we take the panel width, the track depth, and a photo of the existing part. That takes five minutes and prevents a return trip.
For Cover specifically, we almost always recommend OEM hardware for moving parts: hinges, rollers, tracks, and seals. These components are undersized by design to keep the panel profile slim, and aftermarket versions rarely match the tolerance. For non-moving trim pieces, a quality aftermarket equivalent from a supplier we’ve vetted is often fine and costs less. If you’re not sure which you need, call us and read us the model number printed on the bottom track or inside the panel edge. We’ve worked on enough of these across Pasadena that we can usually identify it from a photo. We’re an independent contractor, not affiliated with Cover, but we know their parts catalog as well as anyone in the area.

Signs Your Cover Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- Water pooling outside the panel. The most common failure. It’s almost always the wipe seal at the bottom edge. Over time, mineral buildup from Pasadena’s hard water stiffens the rubber until it curls and lets water run underneath. Replacing the seal usually fixes it in one visit.
- Panel drags or jumps the track. Worn roller bearings. The rollers are small and the ball bearings inside grind down after about six to eight years of daily use. If left alone, the panel starts wearing the track itself, and now you’re replacing two parts instead of one.
- Door won’t stay closed. The magnetic catch loses strength or the alignment post shifts out of square. Sometimes it’s the catch, sometimes the panel itself has sagged on a worn hinge. Both are repairable, but the fix depends on which generation of Cover hardware you have.
- Cloudy glass or peeling finish. On the glass-panel models, hard water etches the coating after repeated cleaning with abrasive products. Once the factory coating is compromised, it doesn’t come back. We can re-coat or replace the panel, and we’ll tell you honestly which is worth the money.
- Musty smell you can’t place. This is the one owners miss. A hairline crack in the wall joint seal lets moisture into the cavity behind the panel. By the time you smell it, there’s mold in the wall. This is the repair that goes from a $200 seal job to a $9,000 partial remodel in a hurry.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Pasadena, a full Cover bathroom remodel runs $9,000 to $28,000 installed. Here’s what moves that number:
- Single-part replacement (seal, track, roller, catch): $250 to $900 installed, including the part and the trip. We’ll tell you the exact number before we start.
- Panel replacement: $1,800 to $4,500 depending on panel size and glass type. Clear, frosted, and low-iron glass all price differently.
- Surround or wall panel replacement: $4,000 to $9,000. This is where water damage behind the panel usually needs addressing too.
- Full Cover bathroom remodel (gutting the alcove, replacing everything): $9,000 to $28,000. This includes new waterproofing, new Cover components, new fixtures, and finish work.
Every quote includes the parts at our cost plus labor, broken out by line item. No “miscellaneous materials” line. No surprises at the end. Every job also carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right, in writing, for a full year after we finish.
DIY or Call Us?
You can check a few things safely before you call. Look for visible wear on the bottom seal. Run your finger along the track for rough spots. Check if the panel sits level. Those checks take two minutes and help us quote the job faster when you call.
What we don’t recommend is pulling the panel off the track yourself. These panels are tempered glass and weigh more than they look. Set one down wrong on a tile curb and it shatters into a thousand pieces. The wall seals and waterproofing are also not where you want to guess, because a leak that gets behind the wall in a Pasadena bathroom with our older homes means opening the wall and dealing with whatever’s behind it. If water’s involved, call us at (626) 657-5396 before you touch anything. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it’s urgent or can wait.
FAQs

The moving parts (rollers, seals, catches) last 6 to 10 years with daily use; the panels and wall systems last 20+ years if the seals get replaced before they fail. Pasadena’s hard water shortens seal life by a couple years compared to softer-water cities. Call (626) 657-5396 and we’ll come take a look.
Most single-part failures are repairable and that’s usually the cheapest path. The question is whether water has already gotten where it shouldn’t. If the failure is a seal or roller and there’s no evidence of water damage, repair wins every time. If we find moisture behind the wall, we’ll show you photos and give you a written price before any work starts.
A single seal or roller swap takes about an hour once we’re on site. A panel replacement is half a day. A full surround rebuild is 5 to 10 working days depending on the scope. We’ll give you a written timeline with your quote, and you’ll get photo updates while the work is happening.
We stock the most common seals, rollers, and catches for the current Cover lines and keep a running inventory of the older-generation parts we see most often in Pasadena. If we don’t have your part, we order it and have it in hand within a few days. Call us first at (626) 657-5396 with your model number, and we’ll check before we schedule.
We also handle parts and remodeling around other brands, including KraftMaid cabinetry, Cambria and Silestone countertops. If the issue is bigger than the Cover parts, the bathroom itself is our trade. Call (626) 657-5396 for a free estimate, and we’ll give you a written price before any work starts.
