Construction Before & After in Pasadena, CA
Before-and-after photos tell the truth faster than any sales pitch. A cramped Pasadena bungalow becomes a bright, functional space. A dated bathroom turns into something you actually look forward to using at 6 a.m. Since 2005, Luca Romano and the Sawyer Remodel crew have been transforming homes across Pasadena with written pricing, real photo updates, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise on every job. Here is what that looks like.

Recent Transformations
1920s Bungalow Bathroom: Full Gut Remodel
Before
AfterThe original bathroom had a cast-iron tub stained beyond saving, tile that had seen eighty years of hard water, and a window that leaked every winter rain. We stripped it to the studs, reframed the wet wall to correct a sag, and rebuilt the room with Schluter waterproofing, a Kohler cast-iron tub, and porcelain tile that looks period-appropriate but performs like new. The result is a bathroom that honors the home’s bones without asking the owner to live with 1920s plumbing.
1950s Galley Kitchen: Opened Up Without Moving Walls
Before
AfterThis kitchen was a narrow corridor with one usable counter, a dead corner, and a stove that crowded the back door. Instead of tearing down walls, we rebuilt the layout from the inside: full-height KraftMaid cabinets, a Caesarstone counter that wraps into a breakfast ledge, and a relocated range that opened the traffic path. The footprint did not change. The usability doubled.
Leaking Shower: Repair That Turned Into a Master Bath Refresh
Before
AfterA shower pan leak in a 1980s Pasadena condo had been soaking the subfloor for months before anyone noticed. We opened the floor, dried and repaired the framing, then replaced the shower with a fully waterproofed system using Schluter edge trim at every transition. While we were there, the owner chose to refresh the vanity and lighting. The shower works. The floor is dry. The room looks like it belongs in a much newer home.
Whole-Home Renovation: From Dated Rental to Family Home

This Pasadena house had good bones and thirty years of landlord-grade finishes. We started with a written scope and a hard number, then worked room by room: floors, kitchen, both bathrooms, lighting, and paint. Material choices leaned on Cambria for the kitchen, Toto for the bathrooms, and James Hardie on the exterior trim that needed attention. The owner got progress photos before and after every phase. The final invoice matched the approved price.
Bathroom Accessibility: Turning a Tub into a Walk-In Shower

The existing tub made bathing a daily risk for the homeowner. We removed it, reinforced the floor, and built a curbless walk-in shower with a fold-down seat, grab blocking behind the walls, and slip-resistant porcelain tile. The bathroom still looks like a bathroom, not a hospital room. That was the point.
Cabinetry and Countertop Replacement: A Kitchen Facelift That Stayed on Budget

The layout worked. The finishes did not. We kept the existing footprint and replaced everything else: Wellborn cabinet boxes and doors, Silestone countertops with a full-height backsplash, a new undermount sink, and Moen fixtures. By not moving plumbing or electrical, the project finished faster and the written price held with zero change orders.
